Why is the wattage lower than what’s printed on my charger?
The number on the brick is a wall-side maximum under ideal conditions. Voltly measures at the battery, after conversion losses and heat, typically 15–30% lower, for every charger and every measuring app. Since all your chargers are measured the same honest way, the ranking stays fair.
Do I need any special hardware?
No. Voltly reads voltage and current from your phone’s own battery sensors, sampled every second while you charge. No dongle, no smart plug, no lab.
Is Voltly free?
The core loop (live watts, the scoreboard, tagging, history) is free. Premium is a one-time $4.99 with a 7-day free trial. There is no subscription and there are no ads.
Which phones are supported?
Modern Android phones. Voltly recognises 300+ models for rated-speed comparison; on a model it doesn’t know yet, you still get live watts, the scoreboard, and history: everything except the rated-max comparison.
Can I rank car chargers, power banks, and laptop bricks?
Yes, anything that charges your phone can be tagged and ranked: wall bricks, car sockets, power banks, laptop USB-C ports, wireless pads. That’s the point.
What happens to my data?
It stays on your phone unless you opt in: anonymous charging telemetry improves cross-device recommendations, Google sign-in adds cloud backup, and usage analytics is off until you enable it in Settings. The full privacy policy is one tap away below.
